The Lula Washington Dance Theatre School completed its first ever Youth Recital at the Japan America Theater on June 14, filling the theater with a warm and appreciative audience that admired just about everything that it saw. And they saw a lot.
Students soared and leaped across the stage in virtually every kind of dance imaginable — and they did it with fire and passion and skill.
The recital included tiny tots dancing in their first performance ever, but stealing the hearts of the crowd with their charm. It was encouraging to see new, young beginners dancing for the firs time, revealing their own talent. It was clear that some of the littlest dancers could one day be dance stars — if they only continue to dance.
