Abraham McDonald, who won Oprah Winfrey’s Karaoke Challenge singing contest in 2009, is teaching voice lessons at Lula Washington Dance Theatre on Saturdays from 4 to 5:30 pm.
The class is open to all Lula Washington students, and also to parents and friends.
Students in the class will learn songs which they will sing in local performances, including this year’s Kwanzaa Festival Dec. 28 & 29. The idea is to equip LWDT dance students with skills in singing (and also acting) so that they can perform as dancers, singers, or, actors.
For information on signing up for the class, call the LWDT studio at 323-292-5852.
Abraham is an Island Records/Def Jam recording artist. He teaches private voice lessons for students who have subsequently enjoyed great success in the music field.
